[07 Oct 2003|01:08am]
Padma left the library at closing time, going back to Ravenclaw and climbing into her bed, avoiding everyone. Her talk with Ron made her feel better, as well as knowing that she was going to be getting back at Bella. Just another reason I wish Dumbledore would allow reSorting, she thought. I just don't belong in Ravenclaw any longer.

She snuggled in to her pillows before realizing just who else had done the same thing. With a frown, Padma got out of bed and transfigured new bed-coverings, pillows, the whole nine yards. Just when she was thinking about getting back into bed, her alarm went off, signaling Padma's turn for prefect rounds.

She snuck out of Ravenclaw and went on rounds. All in all, it was a quite night. She ran into few people, those she did see, random fifth and sixth years snogging in empty rooms and corridor corners that she sent on their way with a warning, but no points taken off.

Padma went back to her house, knowing that everyone had to be in their beds, and if they weren't, she didn't care. Padma stood in front of the fire, ran her hands through her hair, gazed blankly at the flames for a while, and then went to bed.

Locked to Ron and/or Bella [06 Oct 2003|05:38pm]
Padma's run that morning was long and grueling. Instead of simply circling the lake, she ran five times around the full perimeter of the grounds, most of it at sprinting pace. Her mind was racing and her adrenaline was pumping, despite not getting much sleep. She didn't see Ron, and went back in a few hours later to get ready for breakfast and classes.

During the day, she avoided Bella as much as possible, trying to find Ron but never succeeding. That night after dinner, she found a secluded table in the library and tried to revise her notes from that day, but found herself having some difficulty.

She sighed, ripped up the parchment of revised notes she had been working on, and her head fell onto the table with an audible thud.

- open - indoors or outdoors, wherever [04 Oct 2003|10:16pm]
Padma's Saturday had passed by in a blur. She had woken up late - late by her standards, and so missed the her morning run. Extra questions regarding potions and charms sequestered her in the library all day, and it was only an hour for lunch and dinner that got her out of the bookshelves.

After dinner, Padma went on her daily run. Instead of doing laps, she decided to run sprints out by the wards. Like she had told Ron, the ancient magic crackling in the air around the wards energized her and made her own inherent magic sing in delight.

With a look at her watch, Padma realized she's spent two hours doing sprints, and it was almost curfew. She's seen people out on the grounds, but hadn't noticed how fast time had passed. With a sigh, Padma jogged back to the castle.

Padma paced in her room, back and forth, back and forth, deep in thought. The Inner Mind of Padma PatilCollapse )

Apparently done with thinking, Padma went over to her trunk and pulled it out, looking for a potions text she had picked up in India over the summer. The text was wrapped in a sweater that her grandmother had given, something hideously ugly that Padma would never ever wear. She sat back on her heels, holding the sweater up. She cocked her head and looked at it for a while, before smiling. She got up and placed the sweater on the bed, carefully arranging it. With a string of Latin, the sweater was transformed to a tight, black lace corset. Padma grinned again, put the corset in the trunk, pulled out the book, and sat down to read.

Padma woke up early, and made it down to the lake a few minutes before Ron. She started stretching and smiled when she saw the Gryffindor approach.

"Early enough for you?" she asked, wide awake and bright-eyed.

Locked to Bella [29 Sep 2003|09:14pm]
After her conversation with Ron, Padma stormed up to Ravenclaw. She spat the password at the portrait and ignored everyone in the Commons. A small piece of her brain told her that she'd regret that tomorrow, but the larger part was intent on getting an explanation.

Padma stormed up to Bella's room and entered without knocking. She stepped inside of the room, slammed the door, folded her arms across her chest, and glared at the girl laying in bed with a book.

"Daphne Greengrass. Explain," Padma ordered in a low tone that warned Bella not to mess with the irate Patil.

Locked to Ron [29 Sep 2003|06:16pm]
What a long day, Padma thought to herself, walking towards Ravenclaw territory after dinner. Classes where I learnt nothing that father hadn't taught me three years ago, food which was almost edible...now I sound like Draco.

Padma laughed at herself, and the sound echoed in an empty corridor. She didn't recognize the hallway and realized that the staircases must've moved without her noticing. Ah well.

She retraced her steps after placing a proximity charm on the hallway, so I can come back and explore later. She emerged near the Great Hall, sighed, and tried to get back to Ravenclaw yet again. With everything that had been on her mind in the past few days, she didn't hear someone approach her.

Locked to Millie [28 Sep 2003|10:40pm]
After Padma finished her run, she went back in the castle. The rush of warm air that hit her face when she opened the doors clashed with the chill on her skin, causing a rosy glow to illuminate her cheeks. Her hair was disheveled thanks to the wind, and the running clothes appeared to be molded to her body.

In this state, with the adrenaline rush still pumping through her veins, that Padma turned a corner and saw Millicent.

After walking her sister back to the Gryffindor wing, Padma flew back to Ravenclaw, changed, and went outside. She had successfully avoided people all weekend, but was no closer to deciding what she wanted to do about anything.

Malcolm affects me, my blood, makes me want to be bad and sinful. I want him for the sake of wanting him, but he wants, is maybe in love with? Draco. Bella, Merlin, I could fuck that girl from here to eternity, but I can't see myself ever falling in love with her. Millie...I could love her. But Bella, Bella wants Millie. If I knew why...maybe I'm just destined for a life alone. That would definitely be easier, I guess.

As Padma's feet pounded the ground, there was one thought running through her mind. What am I supposed to do?

Locked to Millie or Malcolm [25 Sep 2003|10:07am]
Padma had been avoiding people on Wednesday, though she knew people were looking for her - either to snog her or hit her. She'd seen the look on Ron's face a few times when they met eyes, and wasn't eager to run into him. She'd also narrowly escaped...whatever it was...that Bella had been trying to do in the closet. Padma hadn't seen Mille around, nor Malcolm, and wondered how her two favorite Slytherins were doing, but was not curious enough to go and track them down.

When her alarm went off at the standard 5am Thursday morning, there was only one thought running through Padma's mind. Make it to the weekend.

She headed out of the castle for her run after getting ready, and used the time to plan out avoiding people as the day went on. She stopped by the lake and waved to the giant squid, who was lazily waving an arm above the water.

Padma crept back up to her room after talking to Malcolm. She didn't necessarily want to see Bella right after coming back from Malcolm. She changed into her boxers and tank and collapsed into bed, setting an alarm for 5. As she was laying in bed, visions of her day flew through her mind. The kiss with Millicent, the sex with Bella, the comfort with Malcolm.

I'm turning into the Ravenclaw slut, she thought idly, before shrugging. Every house has a slut - I guess I fulfill Ravenclaw's responsibility for the year.

Though she wasn't typically a nympho, her anger had given her the extra adrenaline today to do what she wanted, without her mind kicking in and forcing her to restrain herself. Padma rolled onto her stomach.

A new me? she wondered, before falling asleep.

Padma went to eat dinner and glared at her sister from across three table. Once the meal was finished, Padma got up and started leaving. Parvati ran after her and the two engaged in a heated, whispered conversation. After about five minutes, Padma slapped her younger twin and whirled around, leaving the Great Hall. Parvati stood in the aisleway, tears streaming down her face, and a hand reached up to touch the handprint on her cheek. She was helped to the infirmary by a sixth-year Hufflepuff, and, once she left, conversations broke out all over the Hall, wondering what the twins were arguing about.

Locked to Malcolm [22 Sep 2003|07:07am]
Padma woke up at 5, planning on going for a run. She saw a slip of paper laying on her desk and read the message from her sister, skin turning paler and paler with every word she read. Angry at her sister, Padma dressed quickly and left the castle, taking her frustrations out on the ground beneath her feet.

Back in the castle by 7:45. Breakfast at 8:15. First class at 9. Lunch at noon. Class at 1. Class at 4. Dinner at 6. Kill sister at 6:45.

Padma had calmed down slightly by the time the sun rose, and she paused in her running to watch the sun break over the lake. Feeling a little better, Padma started jogging back to the castle. It was still early, so she wasn't ready to see anyone on the front steps, but lo and behold...

[21 Sep 2003|02:30pm]
After the events of last night, Padma had gone directly to her room to sit and puzzle things out. She ended up falling asleep on her couch, head tossed back and falling over her shoulder.

When she woke up Sunday morning, Padma cursed. "Neckache, shoulderache, headache, nothing resolved and late," she muttered to herself. If anything, her mind was in even more of a turmoil. Malcolm reminded her of her former fiancee, Bhairav. Bhairav had attended the Indian wizarding-school and was their equivalent of a Slytherin. Always the Slytherins... He was a bastard, completely and utterly, cruel and heartless, yet something about that had always turned Padma into a pile of jelly. She had only met Bhairav three times since reaching her legal (Indian) majority, and all three times had ended up with her bound and subjugated to his will. Not that I ever minded, she smirked.

And then, he had gone and done the stupidest thing imaginable. While Parvati fought in the battles with her Gryffindor friends, not as close to the front, but definitely in the fray, and Padma had helped her father with international Ministry negotiations, Bhairav had left India and gone to the Dark Lord's side. He was killed towards the end of the war, and Padma was left with very little future security to speak of.

Now, now there was hope, in the form of Millie Bulstrode. Quite the opposite of what Padma usually went for - men and women of the worst type imaginable. Millie is...shy, quiet, aloof. I wonder if she's hiding something underneath it all. Had she ruined her chances with her actions last night? Hopefully Millie never finds out, or maybe she'll understand if I tell her. But its not as if we're dating. And if Malcolm wants a repeat, or an expansion, I don't think I'll be able to say no.

She never was.

After Padma left Bella, she headed up to the Owlery. Her owl, Apollo, was there and flew over to Padma, landing on her shoulder. The owl hooted and nuzzled Padma, who smiled back.

"Hey, Apollo. How's it been, boy?"

She wasn't expecting an answer, but one came, from a human...

Padma finished her daily run and went into the castle. Wiping some sweat off of her face, she started walking to the Ravenclaw dorms to clean up and change. She wasn't ready when she turned a corner and almost ran into someone.

"Oh, I'm sorry!" she said, before she realized just who it was she had run into...

Padma's meeting with Professor Flitwick and the younger Ravenclaw prefects went well, or as well as could be expected. There were some disagreements in the younger years, especially about inter-house issues. Needless to say, Prof. Flitwick was not happy with his house members. The look on his face...he never gets that upset!

Padma walked in the direction of the library, intending to go and see Millie. The Ravenclaw was high on adrenaline from the 'debates' and nervous energy, so she smoothed her robes before entering the library, trying to get a rein on her emotions. She looked for the Slytherin, but didn't see her right away.
